Hi.

Welcome to my blog! I write, and take photos, and use Photoshop every day. I love learning and surprises and my sweet family and being a transplanted southerner.

Did ya miss me? :D

Wow!

Totally not bloggy this week. Super busy getting ready for the Stories in Hand class! Holy cow, we are going to have a serious par-tay! The intro email goes out Sunday, and the first lesson goes up on Monday the 9th! Don’t forget that registration ends Saturday at midnight EST. :D

How was your Halloween? I had one Wall-e and one Astronaut, and for the first time ever they were both way into the candy-getting, and the running from house to house, and the “hey! that house has the light on! let’s go!” and the “what do you say? and what do you say when they give you a candy?” and the “just one, Ele” which I said a lot, because this kid is a serious sugar fiend just like his mama. All in all, an awesome night.

Our friend Greg does up his house every Halloween. First of all he’s a super genius. Second of all, he’s a filmmaker, and he knows several reporters from the news stations here. So he created a fake news report and projected it on the wall of his garage, and then made the kids stick their hand in the wild animal crate for the candy. It was awesome. :)

You’ll be seeing and hearing more from Greg in the near future. ;)

Let’s see.. we got smart and carved our pumpkin on the night before Halloween instead of 10 days beforehand, so it didn’t have time to rot on the porch in the 80-degree weather like last year… and this week just feels like it has flown by in a rush of meetings and prepping for class and playing with kids and watching the election and unfortunately not blogging or cleaning or grocery shopping or laundry. Perhaps on Saturday.

But it’s been a long week already and I have been a good girl (I think), so I am giving myself a treat and going to bed early. Yeah! Got a new book to read (Our Mutual Friend, on Candice Stringham’s recommendation). I just finished another Dickens novel, Barnaby Rudge, which I would totally recommend. By turns hilarious and poignant and scary, I hadn’t even heard of it until I picked it up at the bookstore a few weeks ago. But it’s really, really good.

So what are you reading now? Any recommendations for what I should dive into next?

Oh, and if for some reason you haven’t registered for Stories in Hand, head on over to JessicaSprague.com and get that done. It closes at midnight on Saturday, and the intro email goes out on Sunday! It’s going to be so much fun! :D And at the end of class we’ll be announcing all our first-quarter classes for next year, which I am totally excited about as well! :D

Have a great night and I will see you tomorrow for PSF!
