And once again, the Daily Om is spot on today:
Many wise people have pointed out that it is not so much what we do as it is how we do it that makes the difference in our lives.
I needed to have that one show up in my inbox today. Sometimes I start freaking out just a little bit. (I know, you’re probably baffled in surprise at that…) Sometimes I get impatient, or I focus on one thing until my nose is about 3 inches from the proverbial page, and then I totally lose perspective. It’s usually temporary, and I usually recover when a get a little shot of reality like this wonderful, gentle reminder in my inbox today. Small things, done well, make as big of a difference as any large thing.

Art and Indecision
We recently bought furniture for the front room in our house. It was once a dining room, but is located in a really funny place for a dining room (the funny place being directy off the entryway, with no division or wall or anything, just bam and there you are taking your shoes and coat off in the dining room), so we decided to turn it into a sitting room/front room/ thing with no real actual name, and fill it with soft furniture and nice things to look at, and actually use it (as opposed to a dining room, which would merely enhance our dustbunny collection. So after the furniture was done, I had this space above my couch. It needed some artwork.
And remember the other day about me looking at clothing and having 30 firefox tabs open and then getting distracted and never actually buying anything? It’s 10x worse with art. Because art takes measurements. And art requires a decision you have to live with for a long time. Terrifying.
So I browsed around at Art.com. I knew I wanted something botanical. Preferrably trees, and definitely a painting rather than a photo. It had to be horizontal, and had to be primarily red or red/blue/green. How hard could that be, right? Hehe.
Anyway. The browsing. Kind of on and off since about the beginning of November. And still the space on the wall sat.
Then last week I stumbled on this piece at art.com. Gorgeous. Instant love.
Okay, almost instant.
It still took 3 days to finally decide.
But it came yesterday! Yay!
Here it is all hung up:
The best part? I have a 20% off coupon for Art.com. I want to give that away. :) If you have a spot in your house that needs some art, just post in the comments with a link to the piece you’ll buy and I’ll pick one to send the coupon code to! (Plus I get to see some artwork! :D) Let’s go until Friday, January 25, say 6:00 p.m. EST? Link away!
And along the lines of savings for decor.. just wanted to point out that there’s a 25% off sale going on at WonderfulGraffitti.com. If you’ve got a design you’ve been thinking about and just haven’t actually DONE it yet (ahem), now might be your chance. :)
